Sandra Wettergren is a young soprano with a big, full-bodied and sparkling voice

Sandra began her musical journey at the cultural school in Tranemo at the age of 8. First as a cellist, then also as a singer.

From 2014 to 2019 she studied to become a teacher of singing and cello for Ingegerd Hultén and Ylva Nilsson.
From 2019 to 2022 Sandra studied in the program Bachelor of Arts in Music, Classical Singing for Professor Carl Unander-Scharin.
From 2022 to 2025 Sandra studied in the opera program at the University of Music and Drama in Gothenburg
for soprano Åsa Bäverstam, baritone Marco Stella and professor Bo Rosenkull.

Sandra freelances as a soprano and has sung the soprano parts in Handel’s Messiah,
Bruckner’s Requiem, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio and Mozart’s Requiem.

She has also sung at professorial installations at the University of Gothenburg, the University of Borås and the University of the West.
In the summer of 2023, she made her debut as a soloist in the role of the page in Verdi’s opera Rigoletto, at Opera på Skäret.
In the spring of 2024, she sang the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with the Borås Symphony Orchestra.

From autumn 2024 to spring 2025, Sandra did an internship at the Gothenburg Opera as a soloist.

Sandra was named second prize winner in the Wagner Competition in Gothenburg 2024.
She was also named Cantorum’s 2024 scholarship recipient.
She has also received scholarships from: Weylerth’s Foundation, Adlerbert’s Scholarship,
Helge Ax:son Johnson’s Stiftlese, August Ringnér’s Foundation and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, among others.
