The Sopranos, great songs from now and then.

Welcome to an autumn concert at Wärenstams where we will listen to sopranos Sandra Wettergren and Linnea Nordström, accompanied by pianist Mikael Kjellgren.

Sandra Wettergren (b.1993) began her musical journey at the Kulturskolan in Tranemo. She is a teacher of singing and cello, and has a special interest in singing technique. Since autumn 2022, she has been studying in the opera program at the University of Drama and Music in Gothenburg.

In the spring of 2024, Sandra Wettergren sang the title role in Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” with the Borås Symphony Orchestra. This autumn she has a job and internship at the Gothenburg Opera, where she will participate in the chorus of Verdi’s “Otello”. This spring she will perform the soloist role of Maria Bellacanta in the children’s performance “Häxan Hillary går på operan”.

Linnea Nordström (b.1996) took her first singing lesson at the Kulturskolan in Svenljunga. She later graduated in chamber music with classical singing as her main instrument from Örebro University.

In the fall of 2022, Linnéa Nordström was accepted into the opera program at the Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama. This fall, she will perform the role of Laetitia in “The Old Maid and the Thief” by Gian Carlo Menotti in a production with the University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

The concert at Wärenstams will feature music by, among others, Mozart, Schumann, Wagner, Dvořák and Weber.

Note: Wärenstams can accommodate a maximum of 150 visitors and sometimes it has happened that not everyone who comes can fit in. Therefore, we are now testing offering bookable tickets for some of the autumn events. For the concert on November 16, there are 100 bookable tickets and 50 tickets that will be released at the door at 3:00 PM on the day of the concert. Both the bookable tickets and those released at the door are free of charge.
